Forum Themes and Special Sessions
Forum sessions will be organized around a set of themes reflecting the contents of the submissions received.
Post-Forum Workshop
NAAFE is honored to announce that OECD has selected our NAAFE Forum 2009 as the site of a major workshop on the "Economics of Stock Rebuilding Programs". All Forum participants are invited to attend the OECD workshop, which is being organized by the OECD Committee for Fisheries.
The workshop will be held immediately following the Forum, May 21-22, and will examine experiences in the design and implementation of stock rebuilding programs; it is intended to assist in the development of guidelines for the use of such programs by the OECD. This event will be of particular interest to Forum participants given the commitment undertaken by the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development to rebuild fish stocks by 2015.
Special Sessions A number of special sessions on topics of special and current interest are being explored for inclusion in the program. More details regarding these proposed sessions will appear here as they develop.
The organizers of the NAAFE Forum 2009 solicit your input and ideas on additional special session topics. Individuals or organizations are encouraged to contact Jon G Sutinen (JSutinen@uri.edu or 1-510-672-4309) with your idea or proposal. To ensure a well-integrated forum program, please contact Sutinen by December 15, 2008, to discuss your idea/proposal.
