CALL FOR PAPERS


The Creating Cohesion Collaborative invites abstracts for papers and posters on topics related to horizontal or lateral violence; hostile, intimidating, or disruptive behaviors among nurses. Papers should address one or more of the conference objectives:

  1. Discuss the nature and prevalence of horizontal violence in nursing
  2. Review causes of horizontal violence
  3. Describe strategies used to reduce and/or prevent it at the individual, unit, and organizational level
  4. Provide a foundation for nurses and other allied health professionals to test innovative strategies to reduce/ prevent horizontal violence in their professional settings

Papers must represent original work not already published or in press. We are seeking papers from practicing nurses in the clinical setting, researchers, academicians, and students. Paper presentations should be 20 minutes in length with allotment of time for questions. Submissions must indicate if preference is for poster or paper presentation, or no preference.

Guidelines for the submission of abstracts

Abstracts should be 250 words in length and should be submitted in electronic form. The abstract should include a complete title, the author's name, address, and
institutional affiliation if she/he has one. Please include contact
information: telephone number, email address, fax, and full postal
address.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is on or before February 15, 2009.
