Jewish, Palestinian comedians to perform 'Stand Up for Peace' Feb. 7

As part of the University's annual Martin Luther King Jr. Week, URI Hillel, joined by many other organizations will present "Stand Up for Peace," on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 pm in the Memorial Union Ballroom. The performance is free and open to the public.

Stand Up for Peace was created by Jewish-American comic Scott Blakeman and Palestinian-American comic Dean Obeidallah as a way of bringing Arab and Jewish-Americans together through comedy to help encourage a dialogue in support of a political, peaceful resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict as well as foster understanding between Arab and Jewish-Americans.
