The Mentor/Tutor Internship (MTI) Program at the University of Rhode Island is a non-profit organization that sends college students into K-12 schools,
after-school and adult-learning programs throughout the state. Our goal is to help students who are in danger of falling behind academically, and need that extra support to help them succeed and reach their goals.
Started in 1998 with just eight students, the MTI Program has grown tremendously, with almost three hundred URI students annually. As we approach our ten-year anniversary, we look forward to continuing our tradition of service and commitment throughout Rhode Island’s many communities.
