to do in lieu of watching pre-Super Bowl television? The Dave Zinno Trio will
touchdown at the URI Fine Arts Center Concert Hall for an afternoon of
original compositions and selections from the jazz repertoire. The group
consists of Dave Zinno, double bass, Tim Ray piano, and Steve Langone, drums.
Al1 of them are URI jazz studies faculty, and all are super musicians. Come

Eric Hofbauer and the Infrared Band. Composer and URI jazz guitar instructor Eric
Hofbauer's edgy, outsider aesthetic informs the Infrared Band's intriguingly
original music. Utilizing spiky lines, odd harmonies and dissonant chord
cluster while also making striking use of space, Eric and the group put a
premium on swing and blues that stake out fresh musical territory. The
Infrared Band is Eric Hofbauer, guitar, Kelly Roberge, tenor saxophonist,
Sean Farias, bassist and Miki Matsuki, drums. 8:00pm. |

Takasawa, coordinator. Featured guest artists, the Belsky-Maxwell Piano Duo,
will play repertoire ranging from the great masters to newly commissioned
works. Based out of Chicago, they have toured throughout the Midwest and have
a reputation as a unique and exciting new ensemble with particular audience
rapport. Svetlana Belsky is the Coordinator of Piano Studies at the
University of Chicago
Department of Music, and Jennifer Maxwell is an avid performer and educator
currently working on a Doctorate of Musical Arts degree at Boston University.
This is a rare opportunity to hear a professional piano duo in a full concert
