Accreditation

The New England Association of Schools & Colleges, Inc. (NEASC) was founded in 1885 and is the nation's oldest regional accrediting association whose mission is the establishment and maintenence of high standards for all levels of education, from pre-K to the doctoral level. NEASC serves more than 2,000 public and independent schools, colleges, and universities in CT, ME, MA, NH, RI, VT, including the University of Rhode Island. NEASC has voted to continue URI's accredited status with the next comprehensive evaluation visit to take place in the Fall of 2017.
