The University of Rhode Island -- Think Big We Do

What if a Storm Hits?

The University of Rhode Island's emergency response team is preparing its resources for the potential of Hurricane Sandy coming to our area. While the departments of Public Safety and Facilities Services prepare staff members and equipment for the approaching storm, it is far too early to predict how it will affect URI and surrounding communities.

We urge students, faculty and staff to follow local weather reports and community advisories. The University will post to the URI homepage as it continues to gather updated information about the storm.

In the meantime, all of those who have not yet signed up for the EmergencyAlert system, we encourage you to log onto eCampus/sign-up-for-uri-emergency-alert now to register or modify your subscription (i.e. change a phone number). Any additions/changes will take about 48 hours to activate.

Read about the whole process for such Weather Notices and related items.

Thank you!
