The University of Rhode Island -- Think Big We Do

What if it Snows?

URI's class cancellation notification procedures

When classes, exams or major public events are canceled due to a snowstorm or other conditions, the University will use the Emergency Alert system to reach the more than 13,800 faculty, staff and students who have registered to receive the voice/text notices on their cell phones, PDAs or other digital devices.

Notices will also be posted on the URI home page, Facebook page (universityofri), and twitter feed. Messages will be available on the following University telephone numbers, (401) 874-1000, or 874-SNOW (874-7669) and sent out via URINEWS/URINEWSLINE listserves. The notice is also issued to the major Rhode Island broadcast media.

See more information about Final Exam Notices from Enrollment Services.

To all those who have not yet signed up for the EmergencyAlert system, we encourage you to log onto eCampus to register. To register or to modify your subscription, visit uri.edu/eCampus. Any additions/changes will take about 48 hours to activate.

Thank you!
