URI alumni, community residents invited to
take part in'Colleges on the Quad', June 3.

KINGSTON, R.I. -- May 19, 2000 -- Alumni, faculty, and staff are welcometo participate in "Colleges on the Quad" on Saturday, June 3,as part of the University of Rhode Island's Alumni Weekend.

From 2 to 4 p.m., colorful tents and the sounds of jazz will fill theKingston Quadrangle, as strollers enjoy desserts and information from URI'sAcademic Colleges.

There is no charge for those who want to enjoy the Quad on a beautifulspring day. For further information, contact the Alumni Association at 401-874-2242.You can also go to the Web site at http://advance.uri.edu/events.htm andclick on Alumni Weekend 2000.

"We thought this would be a wonderful way to showcase our collegesand what they have to offer in a relaxed atmosphere," said JenniferDurand, assistant director of alumni relations. "It's a time for ouralumni to re-connect with their faculty and deans."

So far, the Colleges participating are Arts and Sciences, Business Administration,Engineering and Environment and Life Sciences.
