KINGSTON, R.I.-- February 12, 2001 -- The University of Rhode Island Family Resource Partnership will provide scholarship assistance to undergraduate students completing an Early Intervention internship.
The Family Resource Partnership Early Intervention Internship Assistance Program will provide scholarship assistance of up to $200 to students completing the internship during each semester. Students can select among several local program sites.
The Rhode Island Department of Healths Early Intervention Program provides services to infants, toddlers, birth to age 3 and their family members. It is also a member of the Family Resource Partnership and actively supports the activities covered under the University of Rhode Islands children, families and communities focus area.
The Family Resource Partnership is committed to strengthening children, families and communities by bringing research-based support to organizations providing services to families. The Partnership provides technical assistance, evaluation, training and grant-writing services to these organizations.
The Partnership was formed to coordinate faculty scholarship, apply research-based practices to current community issues, increase student learning opportunities, community outreach efforts and the universitys commitment to strengthening children, families and communities through the establishment of a self-sustaining partnership.
