Family Resource Partnership creates
Graduate Research Assistance Program

KINGSTON, R.I. – February 12, 2001 -- The University of Rhode Island Family Resource Partnership will provide financial assistance to graduate students who conduct research pertinent to the partnership.

The Family Resource Partnership Research Assistance Program will offer five awards of up to $500 each year to graduate students for research projects covered under the children, families and communities focus area at the University of Rhode Island.

Applications may be submitted at any time, and will be reviewed at the partnership’s quarterly management team meetings. Students with approved dissertation and/or thesis research projects can submit an application by clicking on or by contacting the FRP office, 277-5244.

The Family Resource Partnership is committed to strengthening children, families and communities by bringing research-based support to organizations providing services to families. The partnership provides technical assistance, evaluation, training and grant-writing services to these organizations.

The partnership was formed to coordinate faculty scholarship, apply research-based practices to current community issues, increase student learning opportunities, community outreach efforts and the university’s commitment to strengthening children, families and communities through the establishment of a self-sustaining partnership.
