URI Providence Campus Gallery presents
Windows to the Sol" July 1-26
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- June 12, 2002 -- The University of Rhode Island Providence Campus Galley will present "Windows to the Sol," a mixed media exhibit of work in collaboration with the Sol Gallery, July 1 through 26.
Sol Gallery is located on the south side of Providence and features work by professional artists of Hispanic descent from the community.
The following six artists works will be displayed:
o Nilton Cardenas, from Peru and lives in Providence, paints in acrylics or oils;
o Mario Ahumada is Colombian, lives in Warwick, paints in oils;
o Felix Diclo is Dominican, lives in Providence, paints in oils;
o Tatiana Pina, from Costa Rica and lives in Providence, works with 3-D
and installations;
o Paul Daglieri lives in Greenville, photographs Santeria rituals and botanicals;
o Julia Vera, from Uruguay, lives in Massachusetts. She is a sculptor and ceramicist.
The URI Providence Campus Gallery is located in the first and second floor lobby at 80 Washington St. The Gallery is open Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A Gallery Night Reception will be held Thursday evening July 18.
