Repertory Theatre to hold auditions
for youth performance group
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- January 2, 2003 -- If you are 10 to 14 years old and like to write and perform for your family and friends, the University of Rhode Islands Providence Campus and The Providence Black Repertory Company are looking for you.
The URI Providence Campus and The Providence Black Repertory Company are planting their fourth Seeds of Hope Youth Writing and Performance Workshops.
Auditions to become a member of the group will be held Saturday, Jan. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon at The Black Repertory Company Theatre, 276 Westminster St., Providence.
Come prepared to move and do improvisation exercises. You may have a poem or monologue prepared to share and you may bring your own writing.
Workshops will be held Saturday mornings from Feb 1 through April 26.. This includes 14 sessions that involve writing original work and learning classic poetry. The group will create and perform a play that will tour the community April 28 through May 17.
