Turfgrass Field Day on Aug. 20
KINGSTON, R.I. -- August 4, 2003 -- Are you obsessed with growing and maintaining the perfect lawn? Do crabgrass and weeds make you miserable? If so, then the University of Rhode Island's 72nd annual Turfgrass Field Day is for you.
Designed primarily for turf industry professionals - landscapers, golf course superintendents, and other grounds workers - the event is also open to the public to learn about the latest products, equipment and research into lawn maintenance.
Turfgrass Field Day will be held on Aug. 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the URI Turfgrass Research Farm on Plains Road in Kingston. The event will feature herbicide and fungicide trials, demonstration plots showing the performance of different species of grass, and an exhibition of the latest mowing and maintenance equipment and an open question and answer period for participants.
For additional information or to register for the event, contact W. Michael Sullivan, URI Professor of Plant Sciences, at 874-4540 or at senmike@uri.edu. Registration forms may also be obtained at www.uri.edu/cels/pls/fieldday.html.
