URI announces NCAA tourney tidbits

KINGSTON, R.I. -- March 9, 1999 -- Fans who want to wish the University of Rhode Island men,s basketball team good luck as it leaves for Milwaukee and the first round of the NCAA tourney should be at T.F. Green Airport on Wednesday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m.

The Rams will depart shortly after for their Friday game against North Carolina Charlotte.

The University of Rhode Island bookstore in the Memorial Union has T-shirts that honor the Rams for capturing the Atlantic 10 Conference championship. It also has NCAA tourney clothing in nine different styles. Please see the special display in the bookstore. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are no weekend hours this week because students begin spring break late Friday afternoon. Students are invited to view Friday,s opening round game against UNC Charlotte in Union Square of the Memorial Union at 12:30 p.m. Faculty and staff who want to take their lunch hour at that time are also invited to stop in. University staff are putting up a big screen to view the game.
