URI hosts Meet the University for prospective students

KINGSTON, R.I. – September 21, 2005 -- High school seniors and their families are invited to the University of Rhode Island's Kingston Campus to "Meet the University" this fall.

The sessions will take place on Saturdays Oct. 1, 15th and 29th and on Friday, Nov. 4. The Saturday programs begin at 10 a.m. and end at about 1 p.m. The Friday program begins at 12:30 p.m. and ends at about 4 p.m. All sessions begin in Edwards Auditorium on Upper College Road.

"Meet the University" is designed to give prospective students and their parents the opportunity to learn more about the admissions process, financial aid, special services, internships, study abroad offerings, and academic advising. A walking campus tour is also provided.

Speakers include URI President Robert L. Carothers, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions James S. Lynch and student speaker Thomas Hardiman.
