URI to open new home of International Engineering Program,
celebrate program’s 20th anniversary


WHO: Gov, Donald Carcieri, URI President Robert L. Carothers, International Engineering Program Director John Grandin, and IEP Advisory Board Chair Heidi Kirk Duffy, along with major donors, faculty and students.

WHAT: A celebration of the 20th anniversary of the URI International Engineering Program, which prepares students for engineering careers at global companies by requiring that they study engineering and a foreign language and spend a year abroad. The celebration will include the grand opening of a new facility to house the prestigious program and its students, as well as a speaking program recognizing major supporters – Heidi Kirk Duffy, the Max Kade Foundation, and Texas Instruments/Sensata Technologies.

WHEN: Friday, September 28. A speaking program will run from 2 to 3 p.m., followed by an open house, tours of the new facility, and a reception.

WHERE: Beneath a tent behind 61 Upper College Road on the URI Kingston campus.
