Dozen colleges compete to build, race canoes made of concrete
WHO: Teams of university students from throughout the Northeast, including the University of Rhode Island, University of Massachusetts, Northeastern University, and University of Maine, University of Connecticut, University of New Hampshire, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

The teams will then compete in two-man and four-man races until a winner is declared.
WHEN: Friday and Saturday, April 15 and 16. The presentations will be made on April 15 from 6:30 to 10 p.m. On April 16, the swamp test will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m., and the races from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m..
WHERE: Presentations will take place in Edwards Auditorium on the URI Kingston campus, while the swamp test and races will be held at Burlingame State Park, Charlestown, R.I.
