URI economist: State begins 3rd quarter with good, bad news

WHAT: The good news is that the state’s economy actually accelerated at the end of 2011 into mid-2012, but that acceleration is already in the process of disappearing. Current Conditions Index values for July based on official data and an estimates show that the Rhode Island economy has shifted into a lower gear.
