Professor Misto received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She has worked as a medical-surgical nurse and an emergency care nurse in Rhode Island as well as Massachusetts. She obtained a Master's of Science in Nursing from the University of Rhode Island in 2004, with a focus in Nursing Education. Professor Misto has also recently begun class work in the PhD nursing concentration at URI.
Professor Misto now teaches Advanced Medical-Surgical Nursing in the undergraduate nursing program and has recently begun advising freshman nursing students at the University of Rhode Island's University College. She was elected this past year to the Leadership Succession Committee in Delta Upsilon-at-Large of Sigma Theta Tau International.
Community partnerships are agencies that serve as clinical sites for student learning. The College of Nursing has excellent placements available throughout the state of Rhode Island and the bordering states.
