Mary Mumford-Haley graduated from Rhode Island College of Nursing in 1996. She has experience in emergency, pediatric, psychiatric, community and women's health nursing. In 2002 she graduated from the University of Rhode Island's Master in Nursing, Nurse-Midwifery concentration. She is certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives Certification Counsel. She works as a nurse-midwife and coordinates all care for pregnant women at the East Bay Community Action Program, a federally funded and qualified health center in East Providence. She currently attends births at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island and teaches nursing and nurse-midwifery students at the University of Rhode Island.

Ms. Mumford-Haley's interests are in fostering a sense of health and well being during labor, birth and postpartum. She is the first nurse-midwife in the state to obtain newborn privileges in the hospital setting. She strives to create friendly, safe and caring environments for the new families she cares for.
