Professor Moss has been a member of the College of Nursing Faculty since 1997. She received her diploma in nursing from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing (North Providence, Rhode Island) and Baccalaureate degree in Nursing from Salve Regina University (Newport, Rhode Island), Master's Degree in Science from URI. Nancy's clinical background is in perioperative nursing, and her master's thesis explored mentorship in nursing.
Professor Moss is the Skills Laboratory Coordinator and over the past years has taught Nursing 234 and Nursing 103. Currently, she has been assigned as the Bioterrorism Coordinator at University at University of Rhode Island in matters related to bioterrorism, and is coordinating the URI Prophylactic Drug Distribution Clinic Exercises.
Professor Moss has had an exciting military career. She was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force Reserve, Nurse Corps.; graduated from Flight Nurse School, Brooks School of Aerospace Medicine in San Antonio, Texas. She was assigned as a C-130 Flight Nurse at Westover Air Force Base, MA and achieved the distinction of Flight Nurse Instructor. Nancy was activated in 1991 for the Gulf War and served at Andrews AFB in Washington, DC. She became the assistant Chief Nurse of the Rhode Island Air National Guard and the Nurse Manager of the immunization program, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel; and after more than twenty years of service, transferred to the Retired Ready Reserve in November of 2003.
Professor Doyle-Moss is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, and St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.
