Bio
My professional background includes many years spent in caring for patients in critical/acute care as a clinician, nurse educator, faculty member and clinical nurse specialist. I currently teach in the senior Medical/Surgical Nursing Practicum where we have piloted an innovative clinical education model called the dedicated education unit. Students are partnered with staff nurses and collaborate on the care of a group of patients. Student feedback has been very positive and they feel better prepared to handle their professional nursing responsibilities when they graduate. I also teach in the senior Leadership course, where students have an opportunity to work with expert clinicians and nurse executives to develop as future leaders in nursing.
