Mentoring Program

The Mentoring Program provides opportunity for networking with upper level nursing students and graduates for support, organization and planning. Student mentoring is available through the Student Affairs Committee.

Undergraduate minority nursing students may opt to participate in an informal mentoring program. This program links minority freshman and sophomore students with minority students who are juniors and seniors. The purpose of this relationship is to give new students a contact person who can advise and assist them in negotiating the vast variety of academic and college life issues that normally occur. To participate in this program contact the Minority Mentoring Program Advisor, Mary Lavin by E-mail at MLA0073U@postoffice.uri.edu or 401-874-5349.

Graduate minority students in the Primary Care Program have an opportunity to participate in a Minority Mentoring Program where students are paired to another minority graduate student or a former student. The purpose of this program is to provide support and advisement within a collegiate relationship. To access this program contact the faculty advisor for the Graduate Nursing Student Minority Mentoring Program, Diane Gerzevitz by E-mail at dgerzevitz@uri.edu or 401-874-5310.
