The University of Rhode Island is a regionally accredited public university. Online courses are taught by URI's world class faculty and are designed with the same student learning outcomes, rigor, and content as its classroom based courses.

Mission and Vision

The Office of Online Education supports the development of high quality online courses, certificates, and programs in order to increase access to higher education, increase enrollments and degree attainment. The office provides training for faculty and support for online students. We work with the Joint Committee for Online and Distance Education to develop institutional policies and practices to support the growth of online education at URI.
