From the North, take I-95 South to Exit 9 (Route 4 South), follow Route 4 to Route 1 South. Stay on Route 1 until the intersection of Route 138 West. Route 138 West will bring you to the University. Take a right on Upper College Road, a left on Campus Avenue, and then right on Lower College Road. Follow the signs for student check-in at Barlow and Weldin residence halls.


From the South, take I-95 North to exit 3A (Route 138 east). Continue east on Route 138 to the University. Take a left on Lower College Road and follow the signs for student check-in at Barlow and Weldin residence halls.
Note that construction projects on and off-campus during the month of June may cause some delays. Please plan your travel time appropriately.

Lodging

As a reminder, new students will be staying in one of our residence halls for Orientation. Due to the schedule of events, students are not allowed to leave campus during the program, leave early, or stay in another place other than the designated program residence halls. Students coming from a distance may check-in the evening before and stay with other out-of-state students. For more information about early arrival check-in, please check the panel of this page.

OPTION #1: On-campus accommodation:
Reserve a room in Eddy Hall, one of our residence halls.  At a rate of $40 per room per night, you can stay in an air-conditioned single or double room.  Rooms are arranged suite-style, which means you would have a private bedroom space, and a semi-private bathroom.  Additional amenities include wireless internet connection, continental breakfast on Day 2 and an opportunity to experience first-hand one of URI’s residence halls.    To make a reservation, please contact the Office of Housing and Residence Life at 401-874-5162.  Please note: the overnight accommodation fee is payable directly to the Office of Housing and Residence Life when you check-in and it is separate from the $35 per person orientation program fee.)

OPTION #2:  Local hotels
Holiday Inn:  The Holiday Inn of South Kingstown, located approximately 5 miles from the URI campus, is offering rates of $99 during the URI  June Orientation program.  To make reservations, call 1-877-805-9008 or 401-789-1051 and be sure to ask for the “URI Orientation” rate.  www.HolidayInn.com/SKingstownRI

 Hampton Inn:  The Hampton Inn of South Kingstown, also located 5 miles from campus, is offering 15% discount off the regular nightly rate during June Orientation.  To make reservations, call 401-788-3500 and be sure to ask for the “URI Orientation” rate.
