Parking for 2014 Thewlis Lecture

Click here for driving directions to campus.

Enter campus via Upper College Road (off Route 138).

Proceed to the intersection at Briar Lane (there is a stop sign).

Just past the intersection, on the right, is the Visitor Center. Turn right into the driveway and proceed through the open gate into the large parking lot.

Handicap parking spaces are available immediately to the right as you enter the lot. General parking is available anywhere else in the large lot.

Once parked, proceed back to Upper College Road via the sidewalk in between the Visitor Center and the white house to the right of the parking lot gate.

Cross the street, turn right and proceed past Swan Hall (building with blue bricks on lower level). Edwards Hall/Auditorium is the next building on your left. Wheelchair access into Edwards is on Upper College Road, just before Ranger Road.

The main entrance to Edwards is on Ranger Road (turn left at corner).

A limited number of parking spaces, particularly for those who have mobility impairments and/or need handicap accessibilty, are available in two places:

(1) in the smaller lot behind the URI Foundation Building and the Alumni Center (both are across the street from Edwards). You can access this lot via Fortin Road - drive past the Visitor Center to the next intersection, turn right at the stop sign onto Fortin Road (opposite Ranger Rd,) then turn right into the first parking lot. Park in any available spot.

(2) behind Washburn Hall, 80 Upper College Road - it is on the corner of Upper College Road and Ranger Road, just after Edwards Hall.  Spaces are first come, first served.

If you have any questions about parking prior to the event, please call JoAnn Evans at 401.874.7846.
