Family Caregiver Alliance - FCA is a California-based, non-profit organization that provides information and support to people who care for loved ones at home. The site contains an information clearinghouse with access to fact sheets, newsletters, research studies and reading lists, plus other resources. source: FCA
Hospice Net - This non-profit, Internet based organization provides information and support to patients and families facing life-threatening illnesses. Information is divided into 4 sections: (1) Services - hospice FAQs, how to find a local hospice, etc., (2) Patients -pain management, palliative care, etc., (3) Caregivers - how to be a supportive caregiver, etc., and (4) Bereavement - a guide to grief, healing after a loss, etc. Source: Hospice Net.
National Alliance for Caregiving - NAC is a joint-venture among the American Socety on Aging (ASA), the Department of Veterans Affairs, the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, and GlaxoWellcome. The site contains caregiving tips, links to consumer, governmental, and professional caregiving web sites, as well as downloadable reports and informational products related to caregiving research. National Association of Geriatric Care Managers - NAGCM is an association of professional practitioners dedicated to the "development, advancement, and promotion of humane and dignified social, psychological, and health care for the elderly and their families..." Rhode Island Partnership to Improve End-of-Life Care - Funded by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and based at Brown University, the Partnership is a collaborative effort among Brown University, RIGEC, the University of Rhode Island College of Nursing, and Aging 2000. Projects include educational programs for certified nursing assistants, quality improvement program in pain management in nursing facilities, consumer workshops, and a spirituality conference.
