RIGEC develops and offers interdisciplinary continuing education and academic programs for health care and human service professionals, faculty, and students in the health professions. As part of our latest GEC grant objectives, we will offer an interdisciplinary faculty development program in health literacy, educational programs for health professionals who work with older adults in medically underserved communities, and interdisciplinary teamwork training for health professions students.

RIGEC stresses the importance of truly interdsiciplinary teamwork in the care of older adults and places a high priority on educating health professionals who work or intend to work with older adults in medically underserved communities.
