Welcome to The University of Rhode Island Parking and Transportation Services Department web site. Our site is designed to provide information about campus parking and transportation services available to the campus community. The University is committed to ensuring that there is sufficient parking available on campus while balancing the components of vehicular traffic and pedestrian safety.

The Parking and Transportation Services Department manages all parking activities and enforcement of rules and regulations. All vehicles on the Kingston campus are required to have parking permits displayed which designated the area in which the specific vehicle may park.

Parking in close proximity to the center of campus is limited and in high demand and parking throughout the campus is strictly regulated. The importance of pedestrian safety has moved the University towards focusing on perimeter parking areas and providing more green space areas within campus.

The University contracts the Rhode Island Public Transit System (RIPTA) shuttle buses to transport students, visitors and employees throughout the week and it is a free service to everyone.
