URI's Motorist Assistance and Pedestrian Assistance

Motorist Assistance Program

The Motorist Assistance Program is a benefit that comes with your parking permit. This program is designed to help students, faculty and staff at URI who encounter problems with their vehicle while on the Kingston Campus. Parking Services will assist if you accidentally lock your keys in the car or if your battery needs a jump. We can also assist by lending you a snow shovel, give you directions on how to change a tire, or if you run out of gas we can lend you a gas can. Please call the URI Police Department at 874-4910.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE MUST HAVE
A CURRENT URI PARKING PERMIT

Pedestrian Assistance Program

The University of Rhode Island also features a Pedestrian Assistance Program to the campus community. This safe-ride service is provided between URI academic buildings, parking lots and residence buildings and is specifically for safety and health reasons.

This free evening service is available to all students when the RIPTA shuttle service ends. Although The University of Rhode Island is considered to be a safe environment, it is always a good idea not to walk alone at night. To take advantage of this evening program please call (401)874-4910.

THIS SERVICE DOES NOT REQUIRE A PARKING PERMIT
