Call MA & PA! URI's Motorist Assistance and Pedestrian Assistance
Call “MA”
Your Mom here at URI is our Motorist Assistance Program (MA). MA is aimed at helping students, faculty, and staff of the University of Rhode Island who encounter problems with their cars while on the Kingston Campus. URI Parking Services wants to lend a helping hand to the campus community. If you have accidentally locked your keys in your car, or your battery needs a jump, we can assist you. Just make your call to “MA” at the URI Parking Services office at 874-9281 if before 5:00pm, or if after 5:00pm, call our Campus Police 874-2121. We can assist you to recover your keys locked in your car, lend you a snow shovel, jump start your dead battery, and can also assist you with a tire change or the lending of a gasoline can, so you can get to the next station to fill up. Your vehicle must be registered with URI Parking Services, as the decal fee is used to provide this important service. Being stranded on campus is not a pleasant experience, especially during inclement weather. MA is here to make it a little easier to get you on your way quickly. We do not guarantee that we will be able to fix the problem, but we will provide you with as much assistance as possible.
Call “PA”
Your Dad here at URI is our Pedestrian Assistance Program (PA). PA is aimed at helping students of the University of Rhode Island, who desire a safe ride/walk across campus. This service is provided for safety/health escorts ONLY to/from URI academic buildings to/from URI resident buildings. This free evening service is available to all students. Although Police and Security feel that the campus is a safe area for all to enjoy, it is always a safe idea not to walk alone anywhere at night. To take advantage of this evening program, call 874-SAFE (7233) and inquire about the PA program. These walks/rides are not “convenience” rides, but are for safety and health issues only. We ask that you please not abuse this free service. |
