Permit Information
Faculty/Staff - (Gold Hang Tag)
Assigned to persons who are biweekly or monthly employees of the University. All Faculty/Staff must park in the areas designated GOLD on the University of Rhode Island Parking Map and on University of Rhode Island Parking Signage.
Commuter - (Red Parking Permit)
Assigned to students who reside off campus in non-university housing and drive a motor vehicle to the University. All Commuting Students must park in the areas designated RED on the University of Rhode Island Parking Map and on the University of Rhode Island Parking Signage. Displaying a Commuter Decal does not allow for evening parking at anytime except for areas listed under Evening Parking Exceptions.
Greek/Special Program Resident - (Yellow Parking Permit)
Assigned to students living in a Fraternity or Sorority on campus, the Rainbow Diversity House, the Transfer House, the Women's Center, or the IEP House. All Greek/Special Program Residents must park in areas designated YELLOW on the University of Rhode Island Parking Map and on the University of Rhode Island Parking Signage. Overnight parking for Greek/Special Program Residents is allowed only in the Yellow areas and areas listed under Evening Parking Exceptions, if a proper permit is displayed.
Freshman Resident - (Green Parking Permit)
Assigned to students who reside on campus and have freshman status as noted by URI Enrollment Services. All Freshman Resident's must park ONLY in the area designated GREEN on the University of Rhode Island Parking Map and on University of Rhode Island Parking Signage. Overnight parking for Freshman Residents is allowed only in the Green area and areas listed under Evening Parking Exceptions, if a proper permit is displayed.
Upperclassman Resident - (Orange Parking Permit)
Assigned to students who reside on campus and have Upperclassman status as noted by URI Enrollment Services. Residents of Wiley, Garrahy, and Eddy Residence Halls fall under this category. All Upperclassman Residents must park in the areas designated ORANGE on the University of Rhode Island Parking Map and on University of Rhode Island Parking Signage. Overnight parking for Upperclassman Residents is allowed only in the Orange areas and areas listed under Evening Parking Exceptions, if the proper permit is displayed.
Apartment/Graduate Village Residents - (Blue Parking Permit)
Assigned to persons who reside in the Graduate Village, Terrace Apartments or University Apartments. All Apartment/Graduate Village Residents must park in the areas designated BLUE on the University of Rhode Island Parking Map and on University of Rhode Island Parking Signage. Overnight parking is allowed for Apartment/Graduate Village Residents only in the Blue areas and areas listed under Evening Parking Exceptions, if the proper permit is displayed.
