Support Partnership
Departmental computing support has repeatedly
been identified as the single most critical need for the success of technology
projects at the University of Rhode Island. Some Departments and Colleges
now contract with IITS to provide on-site computer support services via
the Departmental Computing Support Partnership, an alliance that integrates
central and distributed support staff through a two-tiered system comprised
of on-site and back-office Information Technologists.
The document Recommended
Support Model for Departmental Computing presented at Dean’s Council
in December, 1999 describes the Partnership in detail.
