Roland Duhaime's work involves incorporating Geographic Information System (GIS) technologies to promote landscape ecology research and understanding. He continues to test new technologies and takes on new challenges with respect to GIS and the WWW.
Current Research Projects:
Currently Roland is responsible for the operation of a Trimble Global Positioning System(GPS) Community Base Station at the University of Rhode Island. This system provides data to both public and private organizations interested in improving the accuarcy of their GPS data. Another project Roland is working on concerns identifying Risk in the event of a natural disaster such as a hurricane or fire. Roland is responsible for developing these and many other web pages for the University of Rhode Island Cooperative Extension Service and in his spare time he can routinely be found developing web pages.
