URI's Premier Pong Table
Putting My Pong Dedication to the Test!

I. Intro

My name is Sky Tully. As you might already know by looking at the picture above, I love playing pong. I used to play baseball and basketball but I had to sideline my career due to injuries. During those hard times recovering from shoulder and knee surgery, there was one game that kept my competitive spirit alive. Ladies and Gentlemen....I am proud to introduce my newest creation: My homemade beer pong table. It is an exact replica of URI's basketball court. This beauty will take on many a beers.

The completed project you are looking at started with "wouldn't it be cool if we built a beer pong table?". Yes, its been done before, but not like this. Building this thing took about 2 weeks time, but could've been done quicker if pesky things like classes and tests didn't exist. The Creators are myself (Sky Tully) and my good buddy Ryan. Total cost was near $150 range, but that was with the "money aint a thing" attitude...you could probably make a similar one for around $80. I should mention that initial ideas came from Terrapintables.com but (as you can see) we took a few extra steps.
Due to the demanding nature of this project, I would ask yourself these questions if you are even thinking of attempting:

  • Have you ever pissed anyone off enough during beer pong to start an actual fist fight?
  • Have you ever traveled more than 30 minutes in a snowstorm to get beer?
  • Have you spent more than 30 minutes trying to save the last ball which has been dented?
  • Have you ever thought it would make more sense for ping pong ball manufactorers to simply name their product "beer pong balls"?
  • Have you ever physically injured your teammate for spilling a perfectly good beer?
  • Have you ever provoked my opponent to knock over all 10 beers on the first shot of the game trying to defend a bounce? ... and although victorous, did you feel you just witnessed a mass murder. Shed a tear even?

If you answered yes to most of those questions, you clearly are an experienced beer pong champion/alcoholic. But building a table requires nerves of steel, and well...a hell of time. Most are content with a normal table, some like the ping pong table, but the elite few enjoy a homemade table that took endless hours to accomplish.
