III. Table Design
Our table top was designed to be an exact replica of the University of Rhode Island's Ryan Center:

As you can imagine, there are a few technical details that were rather difficult. First off, we measured and drew the entire court out in pencil. Then we sprayed the paint along the sidelines and paint.

For most courts you have to worry about graphics and text. For that we took the graphics and printed them on photo paper. Same goes for the text. Although very tedious, we cut out the graphics by hand. Next we had the large task of staining a huge Ram logo on the center of the court. Basically we drew it out by hand using a grid system to enlarge it. We cut out the Ram for the stencil effect and stained it on the table.

For the sidelines first we attemped to cut 1/8th inch strips from a poster board. That didn't work at all. Then we thought that those whiteout tape things would work perfectly. We were right!

Our end result? Jackpot:

Then final task... we needed to spray the whole top of the table down with an enormous amount of polyurethane, about 5 layers worth, to make sure the whole table is smooth and none of the graphics stick out.
