About the College of Pharmacy

Ronald P. Jordan, RPh - Dean
Joan M. Lausier, Ph.D. - Associate Dean
E. Paul Larrat, Ph.D. - Associate Dean

The University of Rhode Island's rural campus near the sea makes the College of Pharmacy unique among pharmacy programs in the East, where pharmacy is generally taught in urban communities. The URI College of Pharmacy is a professional school, but it is also an integral part of University of Rhode Island.

Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education 2009 Re-accreditation Information

October 21-23, 2009, the URI College of Pharmacy will undergo its 6-year re-accreditation site visit by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).   This body accredits all Schools and Colleges of Pharmacy in the country for their Doctor of Pharmacy programs.

In preparation for the site visit, we have completed an in-depth evaluation of our College in light of ACPE's programmatic standards.  Many individuals including faculty, staff, students, preceptors and alumni contributed to the development of the Self-Study, including committee work and completion of surveys.

The full content of the Self-Study is now posted at www.uri.edu/pharmacy/accreditation and we are excited to share this document with you. We value your input and would be glad to receive any comments that you may have.  Comments may be emailed to the Chair of the Self-Study Steering Committee at mbarbour@mail.uri.edu.
