Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Sciences (BPS)

The department offers M.S. and Ph.D. level degrees in Pharmaceutical Sciences with specializations in: Pharmacology & Toxicology, Medicinal Chemistry & Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutics & Pharmacokinetics. A number of interdisciplinary as well as specialized courses are built into the curriculum to prepare the students for diverse career opportunities in industry, academia, and the government agencies.

The department is well funded by both the National Institutes of Health and the pharmaceutical industry. The department houses a core research facility with state of the art research equipment. Faculty research interests are described under the departmental faculty listing.

Pharmacy Practice (PHP)

The Department of Pharmacy Practice is committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship and service. The faculty and professional staff are individuals with unique interests, talents and backgrounds joined by our dedication to the education of pharmacy students according to the principles and practice of pharmaceutical care; to the conduct of scholarship advancing pharmacotherapy and the profession; and to the provision of the highest level of service to the citizens of Rhode Island, as well as regionally and nationally.
