Dr. Orr’s research, teaching, and practice interests are in asthma
management and smoking cessation. Additional interests include herbal
medicines and women’s health as it apples to community pharmacy practice.
Dr. Orr is responsible for the development of community pharmacy clerkship
sites and preceptors. She precepts Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) students
participating in community-based services including hypertension screening
programs, asthma awareness programs, and the Providence Family Van. She
serves as a course coordinator of PHP518 Self Care II, in addition she is
actively involved in both Self Care I and Physical Assessments classes.
Along with national pharmacy organizations, locally Dr. Orr is a member of
the Rhode Island Pharmacists’ Association, the Asthma Professional Advisory
Committee, and participates in the Woonsocket Substance Abuse Taskforce. She
will also contribute to development of the Community Practice track within
the Pharm.D. Program. |
