Research

In addition to educating the next generation of pharmacists, the college attracts millions of dollars in research funding each year. Its numerous research projects include investigations related to Alzheimer’s disease, cardiac disease, arthritis, and cancer. And our pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics groups conduct important research into the clinical effectiveness and economic impact of drug therapy.

The new pharmacy building will house cutting-edge research facilities designed to foster collaboration and the sharing of advanced scientific instrumentation. These new facilities will help the college’s research programs continue to grow: Between 2001 and 2006, the program increased federal funding from $500,000 to over $9 million.
