| Patient
Simulation
Five years ago the URI College of
Pharmacy was the first college of pharmacy to purchase a
high-fidelity
human patient simulator. The
simulators accurately respond to a wide range of drugs and are
used in a variety of clinical scenarios in which students
actively participate in drug based interventions. Faculty and
staff have successfully integrated this technology into the
pharmacy curriculum and have established URI as a leader in this
field.
The current building has two
simulators, an adult and a baby. The new 1,000-square-foot
facility will include three adults, one child, and one infant
patient simulator, allowing students to spend more hands-on time
with the simulators. |
