Admission Requirements

Master's Program

  • URI Graduate School Application:

  • Pharm.D. or bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, chemistry, biological sciences or allied health sciences

  • GRE

  • Transcript

  • Three letters of recommendation

  • Personal statement

  • TOEFL (for non-English speaking countries).

 

Ph.D. Program

  • URI Graduate School Application

  • Master’s degree in pharmacy, chemistry, biological sciences or allied sciences, or bachelor’s degree in one of these areas with evidence of superior ability. Qualifying examination is required for candidates accepted without the master’s degree.

  • GRE

  • Transcript

  • Three letters of recommendation

  • Personal statement

  • TOEFL (for non-English speaking countries).

 

Both Programs

  • The Program accepts candidates for fall only.

    • To be considered for funding, all applications, domestic and international, must be received by
      February 1.
       

  • The personal statement should address the following questions and be limited to four double spaced pages:
     
    1. Do you plan to concentrate in pharmacoepidemiology or in pharmacoeconomics, and what factors influenced your choice?
       
    2. What previous course work and/or professional experiences contributed to your desire to pursue an advanced degree in Pharmacoepidemiology/Pharmacoeconomics?
       
    3. What are your specific research interests within your expected concentration (Pharmacoepidemiology or Pharmacoeconomics)?
