Program Objectives
Upon completion of this program,
participants will be able to:
Describe the assessment tools and
techniques to differentiate between delirium, depression, and
dementia
Differentiate between the diagnostic
criteria for delirium, depression, and dementia
Identify treatment goals for
patients with delirium, depression, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
Discuss pharmacologic and
non-pharmacologic treatment strategies for delirium, depression,
dementia and Alzheimer’s disease
Discuss the issues related to
guardianship of the elderly
Identify the steps in documenting
competency and incompetency
Describe the RI Pharmacy Statute and
Regulatory Revision of 2007
Target Audience
Community, hospital, managed care and
consultant pharmacists, nurses, nurse practitioners and other
interested healthcare professionals.
Continuing Education
Credits
Pharmacists This
program will provide the participant with 5.0 contact hours (0.50
CEUs) of continuing education credit (including *1 hour of law
credit). The University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy is
accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a
provider of continuing pharmacy education. Attendance and completion
of evaluation forms and self-assessment tools at the conclusion of
the program are required for issuance of statement of credit.
Statements will be mailed within four to six weeks of program
completion.
