Megan Murasso completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Rhode Island and graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and two minors, one in Chemistry and the other in Justice, Law, and Society.  She completed her graduate degree in April of 2008; graduating from the University of New Haven with a Master of Science in Forensic Science/Criminalistics and a professional certificate in Advanced Investigation.

The Master's program required that she conduct a one hundred sixty hour internship, which she completed in the summer of 2007 here at the Rhode Island State Crime Laboratory.   The internship provided experiences in all disciplines within the crime lab but most importantly it introduced her to the field of firearms examination.

Megan began working full time at the Rhode Island State Crime Laboratory on May 11, 2008 as a Technician I- Firearms and Toolmark Examiner, training under the direction of Robert Hathaway.
