Education

  • Ph.D., University of Liverpool, 1980

Research Interests:

Dr. Rosenbaum’s research interests are associated with understanding the dose response relationship and factors that effect this relationship. This area is studied through the development and application of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic models.

Research techniques used include: the development of pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic models using traditional and population methods; testing various patient demographic characteristics as potential covariates for pharmacokinetic and/or pharmacodynamic parameters; screening  potential drug interactions; simulations using integrated pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic computer models to more clearly understand the relationship and the effect of the perturbations of various parameters on drug response.

  1. Use of integrated pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic models to assess the impact of altered pharmacokinetic parameters. Detailed pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic models have been created. Simulations are being carried out to assess the importance of dose and pharmacodynamic parameters in determining the impact of altered pharmacokinetic parameters
  2. Development of an integrated pharmacokinetic-pharmacodynamic model for the dose response relationship for warfarin. The study of the effect of variability among the drug’s various pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic parameters on the response as measured by the INR.
  3. Development of a Population Pharmacokinetic Model  For Zidovudine.
  4. Development of a Population model for Nelfinavir and the use of population pharmacokinetics to screen for drug-drug interactions.
