Research Interests

 

 

Dr. LaPlante is an associate professor of pharmacy and adjunct clinical professor of medicine at the University of Rhode Island and the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, respectively. She is also an infectious diseases pharmacotherapy specialist and the Director of the infectious diseases research program at the Providence Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She is nationally recognized for her work in the treatment, virulence inhibition, control and prevention of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) where she has authored more than 75 peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts and textbook chapters.
