Research Interests

 

 

Dr MacDonnell’s teaching and research interests focus on Interprofessional Education pedagogy. She has been at the forefront of the development and advancement of inter-professional education in the state of Rhode Island. She has helped to establish a collection of cooperative educational coursework, conducted with the University’s College of Nursing and the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University.

As coordinator of the College’s Laboratory Curriculum for the past decade, Dr MacDonnell was instrumental in the development of a new integrated laboratory curriculum. She is also responsible for teaching the pharmacotherapy of diseases related to the eyes and skin. In addition to this, she precepts P4, Doctor of Pharmacy students in an Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience Elective, in Academic Teaching.

Dr MacDonnell is currently the Chair of the University‘s Admissions Advisory Board at the University. She is the faculty advisor for Phi Lambda Sigma, as the liaison to Administration for the Student Leadership Council.
