Research Interests

 

 

Dr MacDonnell’s teaching, practice and research interests are in technology based medical information, referred to as assisted electronic care or e-care, as well as diseases of the eye and skin. She is a course coordinator of PHP 515 and 516, The Professional Practice Laboratory.  Dr MacDonnell also precepts Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD.) students participating in an Advanced Practical Experience Elective in Academic Teaching. She is also a course coordinator for the Physical Assessment Workshop (PHP 900).

She is also an academic advisor at University College for pharmacy students in the pre-professional curriculum. In addition to this she is a member of the University of Rhode Island’s Admissions Advisory Board.

Dr. MacDonnell volunteers much of her free time with the various Student Organizations within the College of Pharmacy. She is the faculty advisor for Phi Lambda Sigma, the pharmacy leadership society as well as the liaison to Administration for the Student Leadership Counsel.
