Quality Partners of Rhode Island (Providence, RI) Medicare Part D: Through a grant provided
by Quality Partners of Rhode Island, the state’s Medicare-contracted
quality improvement organization, Dr. Kogut directs efforts to promote
safety, effectiveness and economy of medication use among seniors
enrolled in Medicare Part D prescription drug plans. These efforts
include collaborations with Part D prescription drug plans, prescribers
and pharmacists, with the aim of reducing medication-related problems
through enhanced communication, education and the adoption of electronic
prescribing systems. Dr. Kogut is also a member of the technical expert
panel guiding the CMS’s development of quality indicators for measuring
plan and provider performance under Part D.

Provided research and technical writing
support for managed care projects and also developed recommendations
for mail service pharmacy delivery.
Health Strategies, Inc. (Lambertville, NJ)
Assisted in the authoring of a
comprehensive long term care pharmacy provider industry evaluation.
Additionally, developed and administered data collection instruments to
LTC pharmacy providers.
Centennial Healthcare, Inc. (Atlanta, GA)
Provided technical support for the
evaluation and oversight of the pharmacy vendor for a large long term
care facility chain.
HealthPlus (Detroit, MI)
Evaluated mail order pharmacy proposals
for this mid-sized managed care organization.
Also advised on strategies for improving
chronic medication use among client’s members.
Magellan Health Services (Baltimore, MD)
Assisted in pharmacy product development
and initiated strategic planning for the largest provider of mental
health care in the United States.
