Medication Education Resource Center

This program serves to supplement Rhode Islanders knowledge of their medication through educational programs, medication counseling and health screenings. The following services are offered to groups within the Rhode Island community to promote healthy living:

  • Educational Presentations
More than 70 health related topics are in our current library. These range in subject matter from basic disease states such as hypertension and diabetes to contemporary topics such as alternative treatments and herbal remedies. These presentations are available to any interested group in the Rhode Island community.

Please call 1-800-215-9001 to schedule one of these educational seminars.

  • Brown Bag Program
In the traditional Brown Bag Program a Rhode Island resident puts all of his current prescription medications along with over-the-counter drugs into a "brown bag" and brings it to one of our screenings. A pharmacist on our staff will review all of these medications for possible interactions and side effects. We will also review with the patient the purpose of each medication and their understanding as to why they are taking it along with proper administration.

To schedule a Brown Bag Program please call 1-800-215-9001 This service is available to Rhode Island residents only.
  • Health Fairs
Participation in health fairs throughout the state of Rhode Island is a great opportunity for us to showcase all the services that we provide and we welcome invitations. We currently participate in more than 25 health fairs annually and have seen the positive results of increasing public awareness of better health in the Rhode Island community.

Please call 1-800-215-9001 to invite our program to your next health fair.

  • On-Site Medication Counseling
Offered in the housing units of the elderly, disabled and needy, residents can take advantage of our monthly on-site scheduled visits. We are available to discuss medication questions and concerns, provide educational information concerning medications and disease states and to monitor blood pressures.

Any Residential Service Coordinator in the state of Rhode Island is welcome to call us at 1-800-215-9001 to schedule a monthly visit.

All of these services are FREE to the residents of Rhode Island.
