Pharm.D. Program
Admission
For undergraduates, the College offers the six-year Doctor of
Pharmacy degree for students seeking admission.
Admission to the College
of Pharmacy is very competitive and is coordinated through the University
Office of Admissions. Successful candidates have high grades in science and
math, do well on SAT's, and often have earned advanced placement or college
credit while in high school.
For an application, please contact the Office of Admissions
(401) 874-7100 or click on the
Admissions homepage.
Students selected for the six-year Doctor of Pharmacy program
enter as freshmen, and have a guaranteed seat in the third year, (first
professional year), provided they have a 2.5 qpa in pre-requisite science
and math courses after three semesters with no grade < C- (this average
and grade requirement needs to be maintained during the 4th semester). During the fourth
semester, students inside and outside the University may compete for any
open seats for the upcoming third year. Typically, a student transferring in
this manner must have a strong profile in the two years of pre-requisite
science and math courses. (If you feel that you meet this requirement, click
on the
Admissions homepage and
download and application. There is no special form for Pharmacy.)

Transfer
The university is not accepting
external transfer students due to the scarcity of open seats in the
professional curriculum. We do not expect this situation to be changed
until 2009.
